A Maintenance Box is … What? 

A maintenance box is a small container used for collecting excess ink during printing and printhead cleaning. 

It sits inside your Epson printer and acts as a garbage can. Any ink not used during normal printing goes inside the maintenance box for disposal at a later time. 

These reusable supplies are easily replaceable and recyclable.

A Maintenance Box Does … What For My Printer? 

Collecting waste ink might not seem like a big task. But without the maintenance box, where else would that ink go? 

A maintenance box prevents clogs and minimizes issues that might occur due to excess ink build up. 

This way your Epson printer stays up and running properly and efficiently.

A Maintenance Box Lasts … How Long?

First, be prepared to go through your sample maintenance box quickly. 

Epson ColorWorks printers go through an initial “ink charging” process during first time setup. This will quickly consume ink, which also quickly fills up the maintenance box you start out with.

Luckily, this is the only time you will have a short replacement period.

Other replacement times for your maintenance box will vary depending on your usage.

A Maintenance Box Can Be Disposed … How? 

You replaced your maintenance box so now what? 

Now you have to properly dispose of the used maintenance box. 

This can be done 2 ways. 

Option one, you can visit Epson’s Recycling program, and follow the instructions to send back the maintenance box for them to dispose of it. 

Or option two,  you can contact your local OSHA office for information on how to properly dispose of it.
