Instagram videos and photos are still being uploaded, showing new customers upping their small business game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It seems like a great investment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, at $279 (as of February 2022), it\u2019s $100 more than the original Rollo without much to show other than its wireless connection. For its price and ease of use, it opted to be a great printer for people shipping from home. Therefore I was expecting more from the upgraded version.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>So what was my first impression? A few factors stood out:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s wireless<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s loud<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It had trouble connecting<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let me explain why these 3 observations set the bar for this review.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At first glance, the Wireless Rollo model is a carbon copy of the original in everything but color. Which is 100% true.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only difference with this printer is its wireless capability. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>THAT&#8217;S IT.<\/strong> I was expecting there to be more pizzazz, features, or options for the price increase.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It definitely looks cooler to print from your phone with one push of a button. But does this really warrant spending an extra $100 when both thermal printers function the exact same?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Second is the noise. For such a small printer, it is <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">loud<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Not loud enough to wake up your entire household, but loud enough to let you know it\u2019s printing with gusto. To be honest, I jumped a little when the labels started printing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But for the lifespan of 650,000 labels, I guess a little noise isn\u2019t a huge dealbreaker.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Third, the set-up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019ve ever owned a Nintendo 64 play console, you remember the struggle of repeatedly removing and reinserting the cartridge when the game wouldn\u2019t load. But \u201cdue to severe component shortages, the exact release date of the wireless adapter is not yet known.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A wireless adapter means previous Rollo owners will have the ability to print wirelessly without buying an entirely new printer. Customers can now print from smartphones and tablets with the push of a button. A simple download of the Rollo app is all you need.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfortunately for current desktop users, Rollo didn\u2019t release the new printer driver for Mac and Window compatibility at the time of the launch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Company support says once released it will automatically download via an over-the-air (OTA) update.
